Cookie & Tracking Policy

Last updated: 2 June 2026

We keep tracking deliberately minimal. Selgeks uses no advertising cookies and no cross-site trackers. This page explains the few things that do run.

Analytics — cookieless

For analytics we use Rybbit, a privacy-first tool that works without cookies. We self-host it on our own server, so the data stays on our infrastructure, is never shared with a third-party analytics company, and never follows you to other sites.

On this website the numbers are aggregate and anonymous — no cookies, no identifier stored on your device, no advertising profile. For each visit we see only coarse, non-identifying details: the pages opened, the referrer or campaign (UTM) link, your country (derived from your IP address, which is not stored), and your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language.

Because it is anonymous and stores nothing on your device, website analytics runs by default, on the basis of our legitimate interest — there is no cookie wall. You can opt out at any time below or from the banner, we honour the browser “Do Not Track” / Global Privacy Control signal, and we never track you across other sites.

Inside the app, while you are signed in, we additionally link this usage to your account (your name and email) so we can measure retention and improve the course; Rybbit stores a user id for this in your browser’s local storage, and this loads only with your consent. Signed-out, it’s anonymous again. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

Your current choice

Website analytics is currently on on this device.

Strictly necessary local storage

The app stores a few items in your browser so it can function. These aren’t used for tracking:

Stored itemPurpose
Sign-in tokenKeeps you logged in to your account.
Guest identifierRemembers your progress before you create an account.
Interface flagsSmall preferences, e.g. whether you’ve seen the intro.
Analytics choiceRemembers whether you opted in or out of analytics.
Language preferenceA small cookie (selgeks_lang) that remembers whether you chose English, Russian or Ukrainian.

Third parties

If you use “Continue with Google”, Google may set its own cookies as part of signing you in — governed by Google’s privacy policy. Estonian audio is generated by TartuNLP from lesson text only.
